And yoga is done everywhere: in the evenings in the yoga studio, in the mornings in your home and in your office during your lunchbreak. So why did yoga get so hot and popular all the sudden?
First of all, yoga is the remedy for the greatest disease of this century: stress. We are massively rushed, overstressed and overworked. We crave for some me-time and we crave to just be without all the notifications we receive every minute from our smartphones. At least in your yoga class, smartphones are forbidden !
The big difference between yoga and any other kind of exercise, is that it focuses more on the inside. The breathing, the letting go of thoughts, the finding of peace in the moment. In yoga we believe in healing ourselves from the inside out.
We believe in seeing our mind, body and breath as one.
These last 5 years, yoga has gone trough a tremendous evolution going from the original form of Hatha Yoga, which is very mindfull and focusing on the breath, to Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga that are a lot more intense physically and really sculpt your body.
Today everyone can find a Yoga class they like. There are so many different forms out there, it is impossible to not like at least one of them! What they all have in common, is that they always teach us to transcend our own limits and to not compare ourselves to the person sitting next to us. Every form of yoga helps you build mental clarity by reducing the endless chatter of your mind.
