So how does a person get into yoga?
For me it all grew further from my first love, which is dancing. I got in touch with yoga at a very young age in my dancing school and only learned years later that I had been doing yoga for my entire life!
When I started college, I couldn't attend my dance classes anymore because of my schedule and was really missing something in my life. So I started to go the gym, but got soon bored until I discovered they had this amazing class called ''Body Balance'. I am sure you heard from it, it's a class from Les Mills that combines Tai Chi, Yoga and something else I forgot ....
Anyways, I absolutely loved it! So after 2 to 3 years following these classes, 2 teachers came to me asking why I was still attending class instead of teaching it.
I thought to myself, wow they're so nice, but I could NEVER teach a class!
So 2 more years went by, I was still attending Body Balance classes but also taking classes in yoga studios and starting to love an actual yoga class a lot more.
And then one day I've had it. I was working in an office 8 to 6 and dying inside. I just wanted to do a job I love. And then I thought about yoga again and how cool it would be to actually make it my job!
So after a whole year of just putting money aside and selling my car, I finally did my Teacher Training and became a yoga teacher! This was in 2015 and it was the best choice I ever made.
Now I do a job I love and I feel amazing in an out after each class. The feeling you get when you see your students evolve and realize you helped them get there, is amazing.
So if there are any fellow yoga teachers visiting my blog, I would love to know your journey to becoming a yoga teacher!
