And that's ok. I am not writing this article to convince anyone of anything but I am writing this to make more people aware of what is really going on.
Every day we hear in the news about the growing problem of traffic and how it is killing our ecosystem. Funny thing is, they never talk about the impact of farming and slaughtering animals on that same ecosystem. Why? Because of the money.
The farming industry is the single biggest cause of air pollution in Europe. The nitrogen from animal waste and fertilizers causes breathing problems, impaired lung function and even prematured death.
The pollution from farming is bigger than all the cars, airplanes and public transportation together.
If we would stop killing animals for food, we could solve the problem of world hunger too. The United States could feed 800 million people with grains that lifestock eat. The amount of water that is needed to produce 1 kg of beef is just ridiculous.
I advise everyone reading this article to watch the documentary 'What the Health' from Kip Andersen and Keeghan Kuhn. I watched it 3 weeks ago and it was a real eye-opener.
I no longer want to participate in killing the animals nor our planet to have a piece of meat on my plate. After watching the documentary, you will understand we don't need meat nor dairy, and that it has been told to us since we are little so we would buy these products and the cash keeps flowing.
Whatever you do is your choice in the end, I just want you to be aware and informed.
